Spray Tan Baby

So it's been a long year of no tanning and no beach - this girl was PALE. I decided that since I was starting my cleanse/challenge on Monday, I would get a spray tan today. $20 for a first time customer at Vivid Sunless Tanning in Oakland Park. CAN'T BEAT THAT! I'm embarrased to say, that I've never had one before - UM what rock have I been hiding under? It was amazing! It only lasts 7-10 days but it's so worth it. I used to be a tanning bed junkie - since I played softball and had horrid tan lines. I know now, that I will  never lay in another tanning bed again.

Seriously though, this place was the bomb. It opened up 5 months ago, and the staff was gracious and thourough. The place was immaculate. I LOVE immaculate. There was a shower and beauty vanities for the ladies who needed to freshen up after [or shower before the tan]. They also offer tanning parties which I thought was really neat.

Yay! I love new places.

Cheers!

Face Regimen for your 20's/30's

Hey Dolls - So lately, I've been noticing tiny wrinkles around my eyes and lips. Obvi, I need to practice resting bitch face more often. BUT I work in customer service so I have to smile A LOT - I also coach, so I'm in the sun a lot too.

I did my research and basically, Philosophy & Younique are the best bang for your buck. Younique has a cleasning/moisturizing line but I like Philosophy better. I do however, use the eye serum by Younique because the ingredients are nicer and I find the texture more appealing.  A face regimen is pricey- but ladies & gents we have to INVEST in our skin. Drink lots of water!!!!!

Step 1: Cleanse your face in the morning &/or at night using Philosophy Purity $23 at Ulta or
Sephora and should last you 6 months.

Step 2: Apply Younique Uplift Eye Serum to your face (I put it around my eyes, forehead, and around my lips) Use sparingly, a little goes a very long way. It's $65 from my website and will last you 2 years. I only do this at night.

Step 3: Apply Philosophy Hope In A Jar to your face and neck $42-$44 from Ulta or Sephora and should last you 3-4 months. I use this in the morning and at night. IT'S LIGHT AND AMAZING.

Step 4: Apply Philosophy Hope In A Tube Eye/Lip Cream around the eyes and lips $32 from Ulta or Sephora and this little guy should last you 6-8 months.

If getting ready:

Step 5: I have always used a tinted moisturizer for the extra bit of moisture. I use a cheapy ELF brand $3.

Step 6: Apply a primer - any brand. I use Glorious by Younique because it's cheaper than MAC and it's good quality.

Step 7:Apply your concealer - I use the Erase Paste by Benefit and then I brush on some Younique Moodstruck Minerals concealer in Fabulous to seal the Erase Paste.

Step 8: Apply a BB cream (Younique) $39 because it's better than foundation for your skin. SN: This step is not necessary if you get the amount of coverage you need with tinted moisturizer.

Step 9: Finish with your powder &/or bronzer.

I do not contour because I think it's ridiculous --but hey! Do you, boo. Go watch some Youtube videos.

Love you guys,
Dev

Prep Those Lashes!

Okkkayyyyy, SO I've had some really happy customers and some customers with questions. No biggie, I still sometimes find fibers on my cheeks if I don't seal them well.

1. Apply Primer - I happen to use the Younique Glorious Primer ;) - better than my old expensive Smashbox Primer.
2. Use your eyelash curler and pinch at the base of your lashes and lift up. Hold for 10 seconds. Do this twice until you get the results you want. Sometimes I use my blow dryer on cool to heat up the curler a little. Be careful not to burn yourself - it hurts!
3. Apply a coat of gel. Make sure to get every part of your lashes.
4. Immediately after you apply the gel, apply the fibers - I go hard with the fibers because I know that after I apply the sealing coat of gel, I can use my Younique lash comb (MUST HAVE) to remove the clumps, and essentially, comb your lashes.
5. Personally, I just apply another coat of fibers right after the sealing coat of gel. I think the less gel you use the better your lashes look.
6. For the final coats I focus solely on the tips and brush the fibers upwards and outwards.
7. The final sealing coat of gel - really work to extend the lashes. This is a really important step as it is the final sealing coat - work hard to coat the entire lash with the gel to prevent flying fibers.

I'll post the video on Saturday and then I'll be able to bring these instructions to real life :)

Seriously ladies, if you have ANY questions or concerns - comment and I promise I can help you. I really believe in this stuff and I want everyone to LOVE it as much as I do.

Own it, baby!

SO while frantically trying to make several appointments the day of an event seems completely do-able, it's just so silly to think about WHY we do these things to ourselves. With self tanner on my face & Saran Wrap around my waist - Aiden asks me for, "more". More what? I ask myself. Focusing so much on what vanity procedures I had left to do before the big family event - I wasn't paying attention to my little one at all. I stopped - cancelled everything and just sat with him for two hours. Listening to his baby jumble and laughs. It really is so amazing to stop and really be in the moment (obviously). We all get sidetracked with work, hobbies, & earning money in different ways. Hell, I basically have 3 jobs, a blog, and I own 2 businesses. Sure, bringing in income & keeping up an appearance is absolutely necessary; but we MUST stop to really enjoy the people we love especially your significant other (love you baby) and your little ones. My kids are sooo intelligent & creative. I am so proud. I'm sure many of you can relate - venting and taking responsibility are both absolutely necessary in growing as a parent and moving forward. P.S. don't worry, I'll still show up lookin' fab tonight.

Cheers!

God Bless America

I am completely outraged upon hearing about the ignorant POS that shot and killed the two officers in NY. I am sick!!! Unfortunately, as a human race, this has reversed any "progress" that has been made from a racial standpoint. Unfortunately, he was a black male. Unfortunately, he was an idiot.  I am afraid to say under these circumstances, there will be no one to hold accountable because he killed himself in a cowardly act of disgrace.  He sure did "give those pigs wings," like he said he would in his instagram post hours before the slaying but what did he really prove? To see the oh-so-peaceful protestors out the day after with signs of 'kill cops to get our way' and so on.... WAS REPULSIVE. Do they not understand what this means? NO, of course they don't - they are the scum of the earth. We are destined for failure as Americans - because we kill each other based on color. The rest of the world laughs at us!!! We are the Ringling Brothers Circus of the world.

We still need to keep every single one of the innocent people - who died in this civil war based on race in our thoughts. My heart aches for all of their families.

BCS & one pair of #babymocs

I took off a few days from the office to spend with my little nugget. So far, so good. I can definitely feel the whirlwind of emotions and exhaustion from staying home with the little dude. We've read 2 "boos" 57 times, had 7 doughnuts, and a pound of peanut butter because mommy couldn't say no. The house is clean-ish, I suppose. The Christmas presents are half-wrapped. Needless to say, ya can't get too much done with the little hurricane running around wreaking havoc. I.still.loved.every.second.of.it.

Sidney and I tried this new restaurant at the Sawgrass Mills mall called Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar -- it was amazing. Sidney ordered the breakfast burger with a fried egg, I had the buffalo chicken sandy & truffle fries, and Aiden had the chicken tenders. We will definitely be back.

Two words: Truffle Fries -- & P.S. this was the best buffalo chicken sandwich I've ever had. The second best was at Swine Southern Table & Bar in Coral Gables -down south. I generally stay away from spicy but I can't pass up a good chicken, buffalo, and ranch trio. Want. Now.

He is wearing his distressed gap shorts ;) #stylish baby His moccasins have been ordered but I won't use the same distributor again.... We had a little miscommunication, and it didn't end how I would have liked. I don't want to put her on blast, but as a small business owner wouldn't you like to keep business and not screw the customer? Whatever. I'm over it. I already have someone else I'll use. :) btw- if I start designing and distributing trendy toddler tees would you guys buy from me? Well, it's already in the works and fingers crossed for success.

Christmas List

Sidney asked me what I wanted for Christmas and obvi, I told him a ring and a boob job. Welp! Apparently, those aren't Christmas presents-- so I'll just have to come up with something else. Lately, I've been obsessed with makeup and hair, so I'll probably just ask him to make me pretty for Christmas.

Seriously though, I really don't need anything... after you have children the magic is buying gifts for them. It's really wild how quickly you change once you become a parent. Wonderful, but wild.
We put the tree up last weekend and it only lasted about 20 minutes... Aiden completely wiped out the bottom 2 feet of the tree. Lights, ornaments, and all! I knew better... I was just hoping for the best. lol.

Growing up, we always opened one gift Christmas Eve, and then the rest the next day. Santa came in the middle of night and left opened presents stacked up by the tree. We always knew that the wrapped presents were clothes from mom and dad-  and the toys, electronics, etc. were from Santa. On the other hand, Sidney has always opened all of his gifts on Christmas Eve - even the ones from Santa were wrapped and already delivered. The battle of the cultures is among us. ;) I find it soo interesting how different cultures celebrate the holidays. Most of my friends are hispanic and they all have a wonderful dinner and open all of their gifts at midnight on Christmas Eve - AKA Noche Buena. Last year, I made lasagna and we opened one present on Chistmas Eve (Sidney opened all of his). On Christmas day, we waited for Nicky, and let the boys open all of their presents from us and Santa. I made a huge brunch and we had friends and family over that afternoon. This year, I want Santa to come and leave the boys gifts unwrapped - because I think it's more fun that way. Gah, I'm so excited.
