Spray Tan Baby

So it's been a long year of no tanning and no beach - this girl was PALE. I decided that since I was starting my cleanse/challenge on Monday, I would get a spray tan today. $20 for a first time customer at Vivid Sunless Tanning in Oakland Park. CAN'T BEAT THAT! I'm embarrased to say, that I've never had one before - UM what rock have I been hiding under? It was amazing! It only lasts 7-10 days but it's so worth it. I used to be a tanning bed junkie - since I played softball and had horrid tan lines. I know now, that I will  never lay in another tanning bed again.

Seriously though, this place was the bomb. It opened up 5 months ago, and the staff was gracious and thourough. The place was immaculate. I LOVE immaculate. There was a shower and beauty vanities for the ladies who needed to freshen up after [or shower before the tan]. They also offer tanning parties which I thought was really neat.

Yay! I love new places.

Cheers!

Face Regimen for your 20's/30's

Hey Dolls - So lately, I've been noticing tiny wrinkles around my eyes and lips. Obvi, I need to practice resting bitch face more often. BUT I work in customer service so I have to smile A LOT - I also coach, so I'm in the sun a lot too.

I did my research and basically, Philosophy & Younique are the best bang for your buck. Younique has a cleasning/moisturizing line but I like Philosophy better. I do however, use the eye serum by Younique because the ingredients are nicer and I find the texture more appealing.  A face regimen is pricey- but ladies & gents we have to INVEST in our skin. Drink lots of water!!!!!

Step 1: Cleanse your face in the morning &/or at night using Philosophy Purity $23 at Ulta or
Sephora and should last you 6 months.

Step 2: Apply Younique Uplift Eye Serum to your face (I put it around my eyes, forehead, and around my lips) Use sparingly, a little goes a very long way. It's $65 from my website and will last you 2 years. I only do this at night.

Step 3: Apply Philosophy Hope In A Jar to your face and neck $42-$44 from Ulta or Sephora and should last you 3-4 months. I use this in the morning and at night. IT'S LIGHT AND AMAZING.

Step 4: Apply Philosophy Hope In A Tube Eye/Lip Cream around the eyes and lips $32 from Ulta or Sephora and this little guy should last you 6-8 months.

If getting ready:

Step 5: I have always used a tinted moisturizer for the extra bit of moisture. I use a cheapy ELF brand $3.

Step 6: Apply a primer - any brand. I use Glorious by Younique because it's cheaper than MAC and it's good quality.

Step 7:Apply your concealer - I use the Erase Paste by Benefit and then I brush on some Younique Moodstruck Minerals concealer in Fabulous to seal the Erase Paste.

Step 8: Apply a BB cream (Younique) $39 because it's better than foundation for your skin. SN: This step is not necessary if you get the amount of coverage you need with tinted moisturizer.

Step 9: Finish with your powder &/or bronzer.

I do not contour because I think it's ridiculous --but hey! Do you, boo. Go watch some Youtube videos.

Love you guys,
Dev

Prep Those Lashes!

Okkkayyyyy, SO I've had some really happy customers and some customers with questions. No biggie, I still sometimes find fibers on my cheeks if I don't seal them well.

1. Apply Primer - I happen to use the Younique Glorious Primer ;) - better than my old expensive Smashbox Primer.
2. Use your eyelash curler and pinch at the base of your lashes and lift up. Hold for 10 seconds. Do this twice until you get the results you want. Sometimes I use my blow dryer on cool to heat up the curler a little. Be careful not to burn yourself - it hurts!
3. Apply a coat of gel. Make sure to get every part of your lashes.
4. Immediately after you apply the gel, apply the fibers - I go hard with the fibers because I know that after I apply the sealing coat of gel, I can use my Younique lash comb (MUST HAVE) to remove the clumps, and essentially, comb your lashes.
5. Personally, I just apply another coat of fibers right after the sealing coat of gel. I think the less gel you use the better your lashes look.
6. For the final coats I focus solely on the tips and brush the fibers upwards and outwards.
7. The final sealing coat of gel - really work to extend the lashes. This is a really important step as it is the final sealing coat - work hard to coat the entire lash with the gel to prevent flying fibers.

I'll post the video on Saturday and then I'll be able to bring these instructions to real life :)

Seriously ladies, if you have ANY questions or concerns - comment and I promise I can help you. I really believe in this stuff and I want everyone to LOVE it as much as I do.

Own it, baby!

SO while frantically trying to make several appointments the day of an event seems completely do-able, it's just so silly to think about WHY we do these things to ourselves. With self tanner on my face & Saran Wrap around my waist - Aiden asks me for, "more". More what? I ask myself. Focusing so much on what vanity procedures I had left to do before the big family event - I wasn't paying attention to my little one at all. I stopped - cancelled everything and just sat with him for two hours. Listening to his baby jumble and laughs. It really is so amazing to stop and really be in the moment (obviously). We all get sidetracked with work, hobbies, & earning money in different ways. Hell, I basically have 3 jobs, a blog, and I own 2 businesses. Sure, bringing in income & keeping up an appearance is absolutely necessary; but we MUST stop to really enjoy the people we love especially your significant other (love you baby) and your little ones. My kids are sooo intelligent & creative. I am so proud. I'm sure many of you can relate - venting and taking responsibility are both absolutely necessary in growing as a parent and moving forward. P.S. don't worry, I'll still show up lookin' fab tonight.

Cheers!
